The Archive itself is a vast collection of knowledge gathered from across the universe by me, the Captain. Even in its current and severely limited state, it contains truths you are almost certainly unaware of. Curiously, it appears you are accessing this Archive from the distant past. How this is possible, I cannot say. According to the established laws of time, it should not be possible at all. Nevertheless, while you and I remain stranded in this improbable arrangement, I will do my best to translate the Archive into English — an ancient language in my era. Your particular variation of English predates at least five later evolutions of the language. Why English specifically? Why… That is, admittedly, an excellent question.
